ISRO\'s CE20 Cryogenic Engine passes 22-tonne thrust test, boosts LVM3 capability for future mission

ISRO successfully conducted a sea-level hot test of its CE20 cryogenic engine at 22-tonne thrust at the ISRO Propulsion Complex in Mahendragiri, Tamil Nadu. The test featured a nozzle protection system and multi-element igniter, validating the engine’s performance at a higher thrust level. The CE20 engine powers the upper stage of the LVM3 launch vehicle, and the upgraded thrust is expected to enhance the rocket’s payload capability for future missions. Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh congratulated ISRO on the milestone.
