The government is finalising the second phase of the Design-Linked Incentive (DLI) scheme to boost India’s semiconductor capabilities, focusing on six key chip categories and supporting 50 fabless companies. By 2032, India aims to produce advanced 2-3 nm chips and cover 80% of domestic electronic system needs. Annual deeptech awards will also be introduced.
